Family Restoration Project (FRP) was organized in the summer of 1988 as a ministry of New Life Fellowship Church. Originally entitled G.R.O.W (God Outreach Reaching Our World), FRP's primary service was a food pantry providing food to Southwest area families and residents in emergencies. Recognizing the need for implementation of broader-based community services, the GROW outreach ministry was renamed "Family Restoration Project" (herein FRP) in 1993. In November 1995 FRP received its 501(c)3 status and began to expand its services to include programs aimed at restoring, rebuilding, and renewing Rochester’s southwest neighborhood. FRP moved to its current location at 360 Wellington Avenue in November 1998 and is a consistent entity in the Southwest community offering an array of family-oriented programs. FRP has provided programs that include emergency food distribution, adult computer literacy classes, Holiday Food Basket outreach, mental health counseling, substance abuse support groups, income tax preparation, and college support services.
